Hello — I’m Martin. I live in the north of Cumbria with my wife and two dogs, surrounded by trees, fields, and the quiet rhythm of the Lake District.

Lakeland Legacy is something I’ve created alongside my full-time job — not as a commercial venture, but because I believe this is a valuable and meaningful service. One that deserves to exist.

This isn’t a company. It’s just me — planning, kayaking, and carrying out each scattering with care, calm, and respect. I don’t rush or outsource. I take the time to do things properly.

What I offer is simple: the chance for your loved one’s ashes to be scattered by hand, in a peaceful spot on the water, with thought for the landscape, for other water users, and for the person being remembered. Whether it’s a lake or the sea, I’ll find the right location, far from disturbance, and quietly return them to nature.

I believe that matters. A specific place. A respectful farewell. Not a drone, not a crowd, not a process — but a real person in a real kayak, doing something with care and intention.

Nobody else is offering this in quite the same way. I know I can do it well — with professionalism, attention to detail, and a deep sense of responsibility — because that’s how I’ve worked throughout my life in public service.
